What TTL control changes
A direct-coil electromechanical switch requires the external controller to switch the actuator current. A TTL-equipped switch adds internal logic/driver circuitry so low-level logic commands can control the actuator circuitry. This can simplify integration with digital controllers.
Logic input versus actuator supply
TTL control does not mean the RF switch mechanism is powered only by the logic signal. The logic input commands internal circuitry; the actuator still requires the electrical energy necessary to move the mechanism. Always follow the applicable schematic for supply and logic connections.
Benefits
TTL interfaces can reduce the current demanded from a digital I/O pin, simplify driver design, standardize command levels and allow control from embedded systems, FPGA I/O, automated test equipment or other digital logic.
Common polarity
For CEI configurations using TTL logic, a separate common-polarity selection is not required. The internal driver architecture determines how the actuator is driven, so the customer should wire the TTL and supply connections according to the model-specific schematic rather than applying direct-coil polarity assumptions.
Control-state discipline
Digital systems should initialize outputs to defined states and avoid unintended simultaneous commands. For multi-line control schemes, do not infer the result of illegal or ambiguous input combinations from a generic description; use the approved schematic or truth table for the exact model.
Design review questions
Confirm logic thresholds, supply voltage, input current, command timing, whether suppression is included, connector pin assignments, default state at power-up, behavior during loss of logic power, and whether position indicators are available.
